Following a decision in April to give CYGNETS an official “Home” for the first time since setting it up in 2010, and also to create a much needed community space for other users, I owe huge thanks to a number of incredible people who have helped to bring that Vision to life.

CYGNETS are delighted to announce that we have been nominated and shortlisted for 2 awards in the Community ReAwards 2023: YOUTH GROUP AWARD – CYGNETS and OUTSTANDING LEADERSHIP AWARD – KALINI KENT.  

This is a really special set of awards that recognises the contributions made by volunteers and groups that contribute to our community.

Following the success of previous shows Hairspray, Annie, Aladdin, Treasure Island and The Ash Girl, CYGNETS was delighted tp acquire the Licence to stage MATILDA THE MUSICAL JUNIOR, and what a huge success it was.

The performance of MATILDA was extremely special as it was our first major production after lockdown, and the the children at CYGNETS were excited to be able to present their talent with confidence to their audiences.   

Following the huge success of MATILDA THE MUSICAl in February 2022, CYGNETS are delighted to be granted Performance rights for SHREK JR – to be staged in July 2023 at The King’s School, Macclesfield.  

I cannot begin to tell you how excited the team, the children and myself are for this! 

With many children loving to perform and wanting to give theatre a go, 2022’s summer ‘Show in a Week’ of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was an excellent example of how we can improve children’s concentration, boost their confidence, build their communication skills and provide them with a creative outlet for them to have fun and make new friends.

Since CYGNETS started in 2010, we have been running these regularly and we are so proud of what every child joining us has achieved and how they have developed.
